In March 2023, JTU celebrated its 20th anniversary with a grand retreat for all our members from different branch offices, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Philippines. The retreat aimed to celebrate the company's successes and recognize the contributions of the hardworking employees. Another objective of the event was to bring together staff members from various branches, providing them with the opportunity to get to know each other better and build stronger bonds.
The event began at our centralized showroom and training center in Johor, Malaysia, where we were treated to a free and easy tour of the showroom. The tour showcased JTU's latest products and technologies, and gave us a chance to see the company's vision and mission in action. Our Group Managing Director, Mr Jack Wong, gave an opening speech, expressing his gratitude to us for our hard work and dedication to the company.
After having lunch at the office, we departed for Westin Desaru, a luxurious resort where we would spend the next three days and two nights. Upon check-in, we were given ample free time to explore the idyllic environs of the resort, lounge by the pool, or simply unwind with a stroll along the picturesque beach. The evening kicked off with a splendid welcome dinner, complete with a mouth-watering spread of local delicacies that delighted the senses.
The second day of our retreat was packed with team-building programs that tested our physical and cognitive abilities. The activities were designed to promote camaraderie and cohesiveness among us, and we had a great time. The day culminated in a grand gala dinner held in the palatial ballroom, where long-serving employees were recognized for their steadfast loyalty and dedication to the company. The ceremony was followed by an exciting lucky draw that left everyone on the edge of their seats.
The final day was a bittersweet one, as it marked the end of our three-day journey. After a scrumptious breakfast, we spent the morning bidding farewell to our newfound friends and colleagues, and taking group photos to commemorate the occasion. We exchanged heartfelt hugs before boarding the buses that would take us back to reality.
Overall, the company retreat was a wonderful opportunity for staff members from different branches to come together and strengthen their bonds. The team-building activities challenged us to step out of our comfort zones and work together towards common goals. The programs helped us develop important skills that we can apply in our work and personal lives. But most importantly, it allowed us to unwind, recharge, and return to our work lives with renewed vigor and enthusiasm. We are grateful to our management for organizing this retreat and look forward to many more such events in the future.
